Medieval to post-medieval park boundary ditches found in field survey

In 1620 or 1616 an earthen pot full of brass coins of Carausius and Allectus (AD 287-96), was discovered under the root of a tree at Steeple Claydon (Name SP 6927), that once stood by the great pond in the wood of Sir Thomas Challoner. A late 3rd century hoard.
