GRADE II+. LATE C19 FORMAL GARDENS WITH SURROUNDING INFORMAL & EXOTIC WOODLAND. PRINCIPAL SHAPING OF HILLTOP & MAIN PLANTATIONS BY ELIE LAINE; GROUNDS & GARDENS LAID OUT BY THE BAILIFF, MR SIMS & GARDENERS MR BRADSHAW & MR JACQUES. 2 MAIN FORMAL FEATURES, NW APPROACH & SE FOUNTAIN GARDEN (FURTHER DETAIL & MAP)(B2).
Detailed historical background and restoration proposals for parkland (B4).
Watching brief and trial trenching carried out during restoration of aviary garden [see 11567:02:002](B5).
Evaluation, geophysical survey and excavation carried out in advance of proposed restoration of 'Frog Fountain' in Lower South Fountain Terrace [see 1156702037](B6-7).
