Lower to Middle Palaeolithic flint handaxe found digging septic tank. One of two Lower Palaeolithic handaxes were found by Mr G J Drewett in the Garden of 'Deesden', 11 New Road, Bourne End. The object was found in an area of Taplow Gravel geology.
