Test pits excavated at Manor Farm

Aerial photographs and field survey of village which shows it was once much larger. Deserted Medieval settlement, now reduced to two farms. There are now no clear desertion remains, earthworks that were formerly visible having been ploughed out.

Possible site of an Anglo-Saxon burial mound or look out point suggested by place-name evidence

Medieval moat at Tetchwick Farm - Quadrangular Medieval moat, water filled with a causeway on the north west side.

The Thame to Aylesbury turnpike was set up in 1770. The road from Aylesbury via Wing to Hockliffe (Beds) was turnpiked in 1810.

Test pits to the side and back of Steadwell House revealed pre-conquest pottery.
