Description

TP 36 was shown to be located over a filled well. Excavation had to be terminated on the grounds of health and safety before the well could be bottomed. The mix of medieval and modern material, however, points to a relatively recent construction date fro the well, although its existence was unknown before excavation. Nevertheless, the presence of significant quantities of medieval material appear to show that the well had been sunk through medieval occupation deposits (B1).
