Description

The greater parts of the upper deposits in this TP had been disturbed by madern activity, the site clearly used as a dumping ground. However, a surface of rough cobbles similar to deposits encountered in Glebe Field was discovered below the disturbance. This contained a significant quantity of medieval pottery and mught again be interpreted as a rough outside surface closely associated with settlement. It is clear then that by the late 13th century, the village had spread to its current western bounds (B1).
