Monument record: 0003000000 NORBURY CAMP, LT HORWOOD (Monument)Possible Iron Age or Roman camp or fort recorded in field survey and excavation. The cropmark remains of a large rectilinear enclosure known as "Norbury Camp" can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2011. The enclosure is defined by a broad ditch with hints of a bank on the inner side of the the ditch clearly visible in the cropmark on the southern and eastern sides. The site was noted as an earthwork in the first half of the 20th century when the ditch was sectioned, but no dateable evidence found. The site has since been plough-levelled, but may have some earthwork elements surviving.
