Description

WOOBURN MANOR, WHICH HAD FORMED PART OF HAROLD'S LANDS, WAS HELD IN 1086 BY REMIGIUS BISHOP OF LINCOLN. RIGHTS OVER 2 THIRDS OF MANOR RETAINED BY CROWN IN 1486, & SEE OF LINCOLN SURRENDERED RIGHTS IN REMAINING THIRD, 1547. THE THIRD RETAINED BY LINCOLN IN 1222 CALLED BISHOPS WOOBURN (HISTORY)(B1-2).
