Description

Between Ivinghoe and Clipper Down is a roadway shown on historic maps, and remaining as a right of way. It passes below the substantial earthwork of Inkum Wick (B1). Another medieval trackway leading to a possible tithe barn on Clipper Down.(B1).
Building platform (National Trust SMR 154114) - the site of a probable 14th century tithe barn, likely to have stood until c1648. a building is shown on the site in 1762, but not 1806 or 1809. Interpreted by Wainwright (1990s) as the location of a tithe barn described as 'a new barn' in an account roll of 1309-1310 (B1).
Enclosure (NT SMR 154126) - low earthworks, 1.4m wide and 0.30m high, of a probable enclosure in Duncombe Terrace Wood (B1).
