A medieval deserted settlement is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in fields west of Manor Farm in Cublington village and centred at SP 83381 22161, the earthworks extend across an area about 390 metres NW-SE and 265 metres SW-NE and are centred around a motte (MBC3286/0109101000), with a possible bailey (MBC3289/0109102000) and the site of a former church and churchyard (MBC3291/0109103001). The settlement appears to have three or four possible fishponds, the largest of which is subrectangular and measures about 136 x 26.5 metres. There are two probable irregularly shaped and one trapezoidal earthwork platforms, each being defined by ditches or scarp slopes that are likely to have been trackways. Other fragmented bank section suggests further boundaries, as well as hollows whose function is uncertain. Abutting the settlement earthworks are two small blocks of ridge and furrow cultivation. On aerial photographs taken in 2022 and recent remote sensing data, the earthworks remain visible (18-22).
