Description
Dimensions - Length 24m, Width 11m.
Plan Form - Subrectangular.
Sub-rectangulr fishpond noted (B11).
Deep, steep-sided pond, on a steep slope, likely to be a fishpond. DMV earthworks adjoin its NE corner (B14).
Adjoining earthworks comprise outlet leat from large rectangular fishpond complex, part of DMV to N & NW. Pond apparently not part of Medieval complex? (B12,B16).
A subrectangular medieval fishpond is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as an earthwork and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in a field about 285 metres WSW of Manor Farm in Cublington and centred at SP 83397 22074, the subrectangular pond is about 24 metres W-E and 17 metres N-S at its widest point. On aerial photographs taken in 2022 and recent remote sensing data, the earthwork remains visible (17-21).
