Description

Dimensions - Height 530cm, Radius 2200cm.
Plan Form - Circular.
Large tumulus, 20 feet high (B2-3).
Probably a castle mount built by Walter de Chesney, C12, or Geoffrey Lucy, C13 (B4).
Possibly Cottesloe Hundred moot hill (B5).
Motte, surrounded by traces of Medieval settlement. Quarried on S & W sides. Ditch, 1.5m deep, only on NE arc. No definite remains of bailey? (B11-12).
