A medieval and/or post medieval deserted settlement is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located in fields S of Stonethorpe Farm and centred at SP 78554 12023, the earthworks comprise two sections of hollow way up to 13 metres wide that curves SW from Bishopstone Road to 350 metres W. Visible as an earthwork hollow way on aerial photographs taken in 1946, it has now become a road to Stonethorpe Farm. Perpendicular to this are two parallel linear ditches that are bounded by narrow earthwork banks that extend S up to 70 metres. Between these are a 12 metres square earthwork mound, within which is a circular hollow or pit about 6.5 metres in diameter centred at SP 78567 11983, the function of which is uncertain. To the W are three further perpendicular ditches that extend S from the hollow way, suggesting possible land or property boundaries. To the N of the hollow way at the W end are two curving scarps that form two terraces or platforms, as well as a system of interconnected linear ditches that may describe two further rectilinear land boundaries. Set to the NE adjacent Bishopstone Road is a rectangular platform about 35 x 25 metres, surrounded by a ditch up to 10 metres wide. On aerial photographs taken in 2023 and recent remote sensing data, the earthworks remain (15-19).
