Description

DECORATED BRONZE BUCKLE, MINUS BOW & WITH IRON PIVOT- PERHAPS A REPLACEMENT OF A BRONZE ONE. FOUND C.8 IN BELOW SURFACE IN A SLIGHT GULLY. SEEN BY V & A & BM. J CHERRY BELIEVES IT TO BE A LIMOGES TYPE, PROBABLY MADE ABROAD. WOULD HAVE HAD ENAMEL IN THE RECESSED FIELD. EARLY C13. FOUND BY M WOODFORD (B6).
