LINE WAS PART OF LINKING OF LINES CONSEQUENT ON FORMATION OF GW & GC JOINT CTTEE, MAY 1899, TO PROVIDE GWR WITH A DIRECT ROUTE TO MIDLANDS. OPENED IN 1906 & CLOSED IN 1963 (B2-3).
