Description

REMAINS OF FISHPONDS, NOW DRY (B1,B15).
SERIES OF PONDS, S OF POND CLOSE HOUSE & BETWEEN IT & 'FOX & HOUNDS': SMALL, DEEP POND (BREEDING?); PROBABLE POND (NO E SIDE); MAIN POND 110M LONG, CONTAINED WITHIN 2 DAMS; ANOTHER POND TO W & OTHER POSSIBLE PONDS (SKETCH SURVEY)(B2).

A fishpond and water channels of medieval date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located at The Rectory, Lillingstone Dayrell and centred at SP 70131 40004. Linear earthworks of banks and ditches forming subrectangular enclosures of former fishponds and water channels. (7-12)
