Debitage

Debitage is the waste pieces of stone that result from the production of stone tools. The waste pieces may be utilised as tools themselves but most are left at the site of production. Scatters of debitage have been found in Buckinghamshire at Marline's Pit in Bolter End, which dates to the Mesolithic, and at the Orchard Site on Walton Road in Aylesbury, which dates to the Bronze Age.
