REPUTED MANOR OF PETERLEY OR PETERLEYSTONE BELONGED AT AN EARLY DATE TO MISSENDEN ABBEY. REMAINED IN ABBEY'S POSSESSION UNTIL DISSOLUTION WHEN SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN GRANTED TO GEOFFREY DORMER AND WAS THEN CONVEYED TO SIR ROBERT DORMER, BARON DORMER OF WYNG (B1).
