Description

The manor was granted to Geoffry Dormer in the 16th century and remained in the family untill the 20th century. The park extends to the rear of the house and is surrounded by woodland which predates the present house; the wood can be seen on the 1841 tithe map. The gardens of the house are shown on the 1st edition 6" OS maps and include formal features garden, lawn, beds, wooded walks, wilderness? And ponds. (NB it is thought that the site includes Peterley Wood)
