Description
Greenland House became main seat of Yewden manor (see Cass 04540) in 1480 (B1).
Original house stood on riverbank, S of present site. Garrisoned for the king in 1644, under Sir John d'Oyly, & besieged by Parlimentarians for a month & demolished after the surrender (B2-4).
Greenlands House sacked in 1644, during the Civil War (B12).
