Plan Form - RECTANGULAR
WORKSHOP/BARN LOCATED NEAR S ENCLOSURE WALL, DATING FROM LATE C1 AD. EARLY C4, W END CONVERTED TO 3 ROOM COTTAGE, WITH S EXTENSION ROOM WITH HYPOCAUST & MIDDLE ROOM WITH TESSELATED PAVEMENT. AT E END OF BUILDING WAS DOUBLE FURNACE, (SEE 00:300) PROBABLY A CORN DRIER OR MALTING KILN (B1).
Fieldwalking by Chiltern Archaeology and local volunteers in Winter 2008 as part of the 'Romans in the Hambleden Valley Project' of an 80m X 10m area located finds of ceramic building material (mainly roof and flue tiles), pottery tesserae and nails, with a significant concentration of CBM at the NW, in the vicinity of Cocks' 2nd house (B24).
