Description

Buildings report held at NMR (B1).
Metropolitan Railway station originally known as Chalfont Road and opened in July 1889 on extension of Metropolitan line to Chesham, becoming a junction station in 1892 when the main line was extended to Amersham, and renamed as Chalfont and Latimer Station in 1915. Platform canopies extended in the mid 20th century and interior of booking hall remodelled in the 1980s. One of three small late-Victorian stations surviving on this branch of the Metropolitan Line assessed by English Heritage for listing in 2010 but considered too much altered to merit listing. See assessment report for detailed description and reasons for decision not to list (B2).
