Description

During 1996 as part of the Eton Rowing Lake Project, Oxford Archaeology stripped an area of 0.15ha to reveal occupation ditches, pits and postholes. The edge of the former watercourse was marked by a parallel boundary ditch, west of which a series of intercutting pit groups and 2 four-post structures were found. A sample of 50% of the features were dug and revealed pottery, animal bones and charred plant remains (1).
