Description

Planned/Model Farm, gothic, around rectangular yard. Attributed to Nicholas Revett (B1).
Summary of IT cable WB (B3).
Park Farm comprises an elaborate yet functional farmhouse that is attributed to Revett, together with a range of associated farm buildings. The farm is set in West Wycombe Park to the south of the River Wye between Sawmill House and the Pepperpot Bridge. The farmhouse, which is shown on Richardson's map of 1767 as 'Mill End Farm', includes three 3-storey polygonal towers flanking a three-bay centre, originally open as an arch but later filled in. Park Farm was termed 'Don Quixote's Castle' in 1781 (B5).
