Description

ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF AREA OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT SHOWED SITE LAY JUST BEYOND THE MEDIEVAL TOWN CENTRE. POST-MEDIEVAL FEATURES, INCLUDING A SOAK-AWAY, CELLAR AND FENCE-LINE, WERE PROBABLY ASSOCIATED WITH C19 TERRACED HOUSES DEMOLISHED C.1970. THE ONLY MEDIEVAL FEATURE IDENTIFIED WAS A SMALL PIT (B1).
