Description

DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE SUGGESTS CASTLE STREET ORIGINATED AS MED BACK LANE TO PROPERTIES ON HIGH STREET, AREA TO N WAS PROBABLY OCCUPIED BY FARM BUILDINGS BELONGING TO CONVENT OF GODSTOW. SITE SHOWN ON 1849 TITHE MAP AS HOUSE & GARDEN ASSOCIATED WITH PARSONAGE FARM. BY 1875 SITE OCCUPIED BY TERRACED HOUSES (B1).
