Description

MEDIEVAL USE OF THE SITE WAS REPRESENTED BY RUBBISH & CESS PITS. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE FOR LATE SAXON ACTIVITY AND THE MIDDLE SAXON CEMETERY HAD GONE OUT OF USE BEFORE THE PITS WERE DUG. NO SIGN OF BUILDINGS OR PROPERTY BOUNDARIES, BUT THIS AREA IS INTERPRETED AS BEING THE BACKS OF HOUSE PLOTS (B1).
