BEFORE CONQUEST EDGCOTT HELD IN 4 PARTS BY 4 THEGNS, ALL OF WHICH WERE HELD OF WALTER GIFFARD IN 1086 AS 1 MANOR. LATER HELD OF DUKE OF BUCKINGHAM & IN 1521 OF THE CROWN. LATER OWNERS WERE THE ENGLEFIELDS, DORMERS, GARTHS & BOYLES & (IN 1914) C BULLOCK-MARSHAM(FULL MANORIAL HISTORY)(B1.)
