Monument record 0032700000 - WALDRIDGE MANOR

Summary

Nucleated medieval settlement with extensive earthworks and ridge and furrow field systems known from field survey and historical records of medieval to post-medieval manor of Waldridge - Deserted medieval village surviving as earthworks representing roads, crofts, stock enclosures and an open field system. The village is poorly documented, it is thought that its abandonment could be related to the building of Upper Waldridge Farm (now Waldridge Manor) (see SP 70 NE 16) by the early 17th century.
