Compton family held land under Bishop of Winchester in C15. John Compton held land in Moreton in 1407. Sir Ralph Verney died seised of Compton's manor 1525. Early C17 held by Wm Serjeant. 1714 Compton's Piece & Compton's Lane mentioned. Early C19 Compton's Farm mentioned (B3).
