Monument record: 0210300000 BOVENEY (Monument)Possible traces of settlement shrinkage suggested by soilmarks visible in aerial photos - Medieval and/or Post Medieval trackways and ditched boundaries, possibly associated with settlement at Boveney, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Forked trackways, measuring up to 180m long, are situated to the east of Boveney Court. To the north east of these, just north of the river, are a series of ditched boundaries which form parts of enclosures. An archaeological evaluation took place at Boveney Court (see Event UID 655974, Eton College Rowing Course, Dorney) but it is unclear if any of the features described here were investigated. A possible Bronze Age round barrow is visible at the south end of the trackways and this has been described in SU 97 NW 99.

Monument record: 0210200000 SOUTH OF BOVENEY VILLAGE Area 6: settlement (Monument)An Early Neolithic midden, four Bronze Age ring-ditches, Bronze Age settlement and a Roman style burial - A possible Prehistoric or Roman settlement, comprising an enclosure, hut circle, pits and boundary ditches, is visible as cropamrks on aerial photographs. The enclosure, which may be double ditched is rectilinear and measures 75m by 70m and has an entrance in its south east corner. It appears to have been recut on two sides. Within this enclosure is a hut circle and some pits. To the east and south of the enclosure are perpendicular ditched boundaries which may be parts of other enclosures. Two perpendicular rows of pits are situated immediately south of the enclosure but the relationship, if any, between the two features is not clear. Excavated in advance of the construction of Eton Rowing Course
