Description

NEW WORKHOUSE ERECTED 1829 ON THE SPOT NOW OCCUPIED BY THE SILK MILL, MOUNT STREET & THE NATIONAL SCHOOL. IT COST 3000 POUNDS & SERVED TILL THE AYLESBURY UNION WAS FORMED & A NEW ONE BUILT (SEE CASS 5817). PREMISES PARTLY CONVERTED TO SILK MILL (B1-2).
NOW DEMOLISHED; NGR TO SITE OF SILK MILL (B3,B5).
