Description

Grade II. Two houses, formerly barns. Late C18, converted to dwellings c.1980. Timber framed with C20 weatherboard cladding, rebuilt brick plinths, old tile roofs, C20 brick chimneys. L-plan. One storey and attic. Moat Barn is of 5 bays. Centre bay has gabled projection, formerly cart entry but with front rebuilt in brick and timber, now containing door and flanking glazed panels. Flanking bays have catslide projections, each with 2 C20 single lights. 2 more single lights in right bay, garage in left bay, 4 skylights. Granary Barn is slightly lower with hipped roof and hexagonal louvred turret at right end. 5 C20 rectangular lights, 2 tall narrow windows to right, off-centre door. Rebuilt brick projections of one storey at right end. Rear has C20 barred wooden casements, and gabled projection near left end. Slender queen strut trusses, braced tie beams (B6).
