Description
IRON SPEARHEAD; POSSIBLY EARLY IRON AGE, APPARENTLY COPIED FROM BRONZE AGE PATTERN. FOUND WITH ANGLO-SAXON & VIKING OBJECTS ABOUT 4FT BELOW THE RIVER BED. SAID ALSO TO BE BENEATH A STONY LAYER; POSSIBLY THE BED OF AN OLD FORD? (B2).
Two iron spearheads (probably both Early Iron Age) found at Stone Bridge (SP 79571519) in 1927. Now in Aylesbury Museum (B6)
An iron spearhead, possibly Early Iron Age and another together with a scramasax, both of the Viking period were found at the bridge on Bicester Road, Aylesbury. Presented by Bucks Co Council to Aylesbury Museum (B7).
