TOWN HALL ERECTED ON SITE OF OLD WORKHOUSE IN 1840. LOWER PART INTENDED FOR A MARKET-HOUSE BUT NEVER USED FOR THAT PURPOSE. UPPER STOREY CONTAINS EXCELLENT MAGISTRATES COURTROOM WHERE PETTY SESSIONS ARE HELD (B1).
AT BACK IS A SMALL C18 'LOCKUP' (B2).
