OS MAP MARKS 'MARSH MILL (PAPER)' AT NGR (B4).
SUNLIFE INSURANCE NOS (B8).
SEEMS MILL CEASED WORKING C.1935 (B9).
LOWER MARSH MILL/WYCOMBE MARSH PAPER MILLS. STARTED 1724. 1ST TO PRODUCE TINTED PAPERS. CROWN LICENCE (B11).
MODERN PAPER FACTORY NOW ON SITE (B10).
Survey of remaining historic mill buildings by TVAS in December 1999 identified remains of early 18th century wheel house (partly demolished) and the wheel housing, 19th century turbine house, late 19th century engineers shop with traces of adjoining forge, early 20th century roll grinding shop and various water management features (B12).
Evaluation trial trenching by TVAS in May and June 2002 recorded 19th and 20th century structural remains in Trenches 9 and 41, comprising building footings, possible floor surfaces and levelling deposits (B13).
Watching brief carried out by TVAS in October 2003 and February 2004 during groundworks across remaining part of site recorded 0.8m-1m of made ground directly overlying natural. No archaeological features were visible (B14).
