- CONDUIT? (12th Century - 1100 AD? to 1199 AD?)
Description
A SHORT SECTION OF 9MM BORE LEAD PIPE DISCOVERED DURING RENOVATIONS MAY BE PART OF A WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. THIS MIGHT IMPLY A SMALL MONASTIC COMMUNITY, WHICH WAS USING THIS SYSTEM IN C12 OR EVEN LATER. THIS WOULD REINFORCE THE THEORY THAT ST MAR Y'S WAS ONCE A MINSTER? (B14).
