Description

SINGLE LARGE SHERD, HANDMADE WITH VEG IMPRESSION FOUND AUG 1976 (B1).
3 DITCHES AND PIT EXPOSED WHEN GAS-PIPE CUT IN APRIL 1987, EACH CONTAINING SHERD/SHERDS OF MID-LATE PRE-ROMAN IRON AGE POTTERY & SOME ANIMAL BONE (B2).
DITCH 1: 3.5M WIDE, 1.4M DEEP WITH BLACK FILL CONTAINING THIN BLACK LINE ABOVE WHICH WERE FINDS. DITCH 3: 2.7M X 1.1M, BOTTOM CLAY, UPPER BLACK SOIL. DITCH 4 WAS 2 DITCHES, 1.4 X 0.6M & 2 X 0.6M. PIT (2) MEASURED 3.5M X 0.65M & HAD A FILL OF DARK SOIL WITH SOME STONE & CHARCOAL (B4).
