Description
IN FRONT OF CHURCH ENTRANCE IS THE BASE OF AN ANCIENT CROSS OF STONE (B3).
S OF CHURCH, LARGE STONE, PARTLY BURIED, PROBABLY BASE OF CHURCHYARD CROSS (B4).
SP 68002249 In front entrance (of St. Michaels Church) is the base of an ancient cross of stone (B11). Large stone partly buried, probably base of churchyard cross. (B4)
SP 6798 2277 There are two large stones, lying on the ground surface, immediately inside the gateway to the churchyard.
a. 0.85m by 0.40m by 0.35m thick. It is dressed on 1 face, 1 side and 1 end which is rebated.
b. 1.10m by 0.35m by 0.25m thick. It is dressed on 1 face, 1 side and both ends which are rebated.
These stones would form 2 sides of a plinth for the socket stone of a cross. They are of minor importance (B12).
