Description

LARGE HOLE/PIT, FOUND 1850. AT DEPTH OF C8FT WERE THE REMAINS OF C30 PEOPLE, ALL AGES; BURIED INDISCRIMINATELY? WERE THESE THE REMAINS OF THOSE WHO FELL AT THE SIEGE OF HILLESDEN HOUSE, IN 1643? PIT NEAR 'CHURCHYARD CROSS' (B3).
