THE MOAT WAS FORMERLY IN WOODLAND CALLED LODGE COPICE SO IS POSSIBLE THAT THE SITE WAS A MOATED KEEPER'S LODGE (B2).
A PARALLEL FOR THIS IS SLIPTON LODGE, LOWICK, NORTHANTS (B4).
