Description

Estate known from C16 as Monkton manor probably derive name from its owners, abbot & monks of Medmenham, mentioned in connection with Little Marlow at end C13. About 1535 rent of mansion called 'Moncion' or 'Monkeken' was £3 6s 8d. After 1545 manor descended with Little Marlow. Last named 1820 (B1).
