Description

INDULGENCE GRANTED TO HOSPITAL OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST AT WENDOVER & TO ITS BRETHREN IN 1311.Nothing more is known of the hospital, but it seems probable that it was connected with the chapel of St John Baptist, (SP 80 NE 12) which formerly stood on the Tring Road (B2,B7).
FOUNDED PRE-1300; DISSOLVED 1547. FOR POOR MEN. EXISTED LATE C13 FOR WARDEN ETC (B6).

Hospital of St John the Baptist, Wendover (SP 8707), founded - 1311 AD, dissolved + 1535 AD. Still in being temporarily in reign of Henry VIII (B10).
