Description

ALTHOUGH EACH BURH WAS ALLOWED TO HAVE A MINT UNDER THE LAWS OF ATHELSTAN (925-939)(B1), THERE IS NO EVIDENCE FOR A MINT AT BUCKINGHAM UNTIL EADGAR'S RECOINAGE IN 973. 36 COINS OF THE BUCKINGHAM MINT ARE KNOWN, THE EARLIEST OF C.975, THE LATEST C.1060 (B5,B1,B6).
