IN THE SPRING OF 1935 MR R A SMITH & ADL SAW A LARGE MASS OF CALCAREOUS RUBBLE IN THE GRAVEL IN REED'S PIT. PIT RARELY WORKED & NOT DEEP. ONLY SHORT SECTIONS EXPOSED: 1 EW & 1 NS. CALC LAYER & FEW CM' S OF BRICKEARTH BARELY COVERED WITH TURF: MOST DEPOSITS ALREADY CLEARED (MAP)(B1).
