Description

1788 MAP MARKS 'PAPER MILL' (A WATERMILL) APPROX AT NGR (B1). MILL, BELONGING TO SAVOY MANOR, STOOD NEAR STARTOP'S END, ON A SPOT NOW INCLUDED IN THE RESERVOIR BANK OR JUST OUTSIDE IT. LATER USED AS A PAPER MILL (B3). SITE/NGR DERIVED FROM B1, B3. BUILDING OF CANAL HAD MAJOR EFFECT ON LOCAL TOPOGRAPHY (B4).
