Description

11 DECORATED FLOOR TILES OF PENN TYPE 143. REMOVED FROM THORNTON PARISH CHURCH LATE C18 & PLACED IN GROTTO. DISCOVERED C1920 & REDISCOVERED 1968 WHEN GROTTO CLEANED OUT (B3). 4 PENN TYPE 143 TILES WERE PRESENTED TO BCM (B4). OTHERS WITH THE CONVENT & WOLVERTON ARCH SOC (B5). NGR TO GROTTO (B6).
