Description

TOMB & BRASS OF ROBERT INGLETON (DIED 1472) & HIS FAMILY. FOUND IN THORNTON CONVENT GROTTO C.1947. HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE CHANCEL OF THORNTON PARISH CHURCH C.1780, WHEN THE CHANCEL WAS DEMOLISHED. TOMB WAS RESTORED TO PARISH CHURCH 1947/8 (B1; HAS DESCRIPTION, &C). & SEE CASS 5179. NGR TO GROTTO.
