Flint flakes and scrapers of Mesolithic/Neolithic date found by Mrs Rivet of Thomas Harding School in making a new flower bed at SP 95870115. The flints are held at the school (B3).
The precise find-spot of the flints was indicated on the ground by the headmaster (b6) SP 95870112. The finds totalling about 40 worked flints and over 100 wasters were identified by the British Museum as Mesolithic, and the site is considered to be a Mesolithic working floor. However, Mr M Farley, who also examined the flints stated that 99% were natural, and only two genuine flakes, a scraper and one possible worked flint could be identified. Mrs Rivet retains the finds (B4).
