HEAD DESCRIBES AXE AS 'THAMES PICK TYPE' (B2).
BRANIGAN DESCRIBES AXE AS AN ELONGATED CORE-AXE OF TRANCHET TYPE. CUTTING EDGE FLAKED TO MAKE A PICK RATHER THAN ADZE. NOT STRICTLY 'THAMES TYPE' BECAUSE OF CONCAVITY IN TOP OF AXE (B3).
